The new Building 7 ad is here, and with your support, it will be saturating the NYC airwaves one month from now.

Since December we have raised over $75,000. We now need only $25,000 more to launch the second round of TV spots, which will reach another one million viewers and bring us even greater media exposure—the kind of exposure that will ignite widespread discussion of Building 7 and generate enough public pressure to bring about a new investigation.

We are also pleased to announce that “Remember Building 7” is officially the new campaign name that will take us into next phase of our effort. While “BuildingWhat?” was the perfect articulation of why Building 7’s collapse has not been properly investigated, it became clear that we needed “Building 7” to be in the name if we are to reach the point where no one will ever respond with the words, “Building what?”, when Building 7 is mentioned.

Today is also the day of our conference at the University of Hartford: “Investigate Building 7: A Call to Reexamine the Most Important Event of Our Time.” For those of you who are close to West Hartford, we encourage you to attend. Events run until 9:30pm, and we have a stellar lineup including all of the family members featured in the ad—Jane Pollicino, Bob McIlvaine, Manny Badillo, and Valerie Lucznikowska—as well as Richard Gage, Dr. William Pepper, Dr. Graeme MacQueen, Kevin Ryan, Tony Szamboti, Mark Crispin Miller, and renowned journalists Leslie Griffith, Craig Unger, and Dick Russell, who will be discussing his new book coauthored with Jesse Ventura, “63 Documents the Government Doesn’t Want You to Read.” More information is at InvestigateBuilding7.org. We are very pleased and excited to announce the launch of a new fundraising drive for the next round of BuildingWhat? TV ads. Before going into the details of Round 2, here is a brief recap of what has happened to bring us to this point:

Thanks to the generosity of thousands of supporters across the globe, the BuildingWhat? TV ad campaign was able to raise $100,000 and reach a remarkable 1 million viewers in the New York Metropolitan Area during the month of November, most of them seeing footage of World Trade Center Building 7’s destruction for the first time ever.

The campaign also received the media attention it deserved in the form of an appearance on FOX News’ Geraldo At Large in front of a national audience of 1 millon more viewers. After that momentous breakthrough, Geraldo and FOX News’ Andrew Napolitano affirmed their skepticism of the official explanation for Building 7’s destruction, resulting in a flurry of responses from other media outlets including CNN, MSNBC and the Huffington Post.

With the media’s coverage of Building 7 poised to go in one of two directions—subsiding into nothingness or exploding into a bona fide discussion about the government’s bogus explanation for Building 7’s destruction—it is now time for us to dig deep and take the BuildingWhat? campaign to the next level.

“BuildingWhat?” Round 2

This time around, we are setting a fundraising goal of $200,000 that we hope to reach by January 1, 2011. The TV ad campaign for Round 2, set to launch in New York City in mid to late January, will be much larger than Round 1, and it will go hand-in-hand with an online viral campaign, a print ad campaign, and a PR effort coordinated by top professionals in the industry who are capable of landing BuildingWhat? more priceless media coverage.

We ask you to support BuildingWhat? Round 2 with whatever amount is manageable for you. If you donated to Round 1, we are counting on you to match your previous donation. If you were very pleased with the results from Round 1—and you are able—we invite you to double your previous donation. Do not forget that every dollar you donate is fully tax-deductible when you file your taxes after December 31.

NYC CAN is non-partisan organization representing over one-hundred 9/11 family members, dozens of first responders and survivors, and thousands of proud citizens committed to bringing about a new and independent investigation into the events of September 11, 2001. In 2009, NYC CAN led a ballot initiative that would have established a local commission to conduct an impartial, evidence-driven investigation into the events of 9/11. 80,000 New Yorkers signed the petition, far exceeding the requirement for the proposed charter amendment to be presented to the voters on the November ballot. The City of New York refused to place it on the ballot citing legal insufficiencies in the petition. Standing on the shoulders of 80,000 New Yorkers whose voices were silenced, NYC CAN carries on in pursuit of the answers that every American deserves.
