NEW YORK CITY, NY — Amid its June 6th launch of 425 advertising spots on New York television, Remember Building 7 – an advocacy campaign calling for a new investigation into the collapse of a third skyscraper on 9/11 – has released findings from a new poll it commissioned on what New Yorkers believe about that day.

The May polling of 643 New Yorkers (including respondents in all of New York City’s five boroughs) by the independent Siena Research Institute shows meaningful levels of doubt and concern regarding the truth about what happened that day, with only 60 percent of New Yorkers ready to “move on”, and 48 percent in favor of the Manhattan District Attorney or New York City Council opening a new investigation into the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.

The poll finds:

• 1 in 3 New Yorkers were unaware of Building 7’s collapse (the skyscraper was not hit by an airplane; it collapsed seven hours after the Twin Towers), only 25 percent have ever seen video footage of the collapse, and 86 percent were unable to name the building;

• Of those aware of Building 7’s collapse, 24 percent believe it was a controlled demolition that brought the building down, 23 percent are unsure, and 49 percent believe it was caused by fires;

• 36 percent of all respondents are inclined to believe critics who argue against the government’s explanation that the collapse was caused by fires, including a group of 1,500 architects and engineers who say no steel-framed skyscraper has ever succumbed to fire. Forty percent are inclined to believe the government’s account, and 23 percent are unsure;

• 48 percent of those polled are in favor of a new investigation into Building 7’s collapse, compared to 44 percent opposed and 8 percent who don’t know or refused to answer.

• 28 percent — more than 1 in 4 — believe the Twin Towers were brought down with explosives or some other demolition devices in addition to being hit by airplanes.

• In sum, 36 percent say they are “not satisfied that we know the whole truth about that day, and it is time to get to the bottom of what happened,” versus 60 percent who ten years later say they are “satisfied that we understand well enough what happened and it’s time to move on.”

The poll findings can be found at www.siena.edu/sri/research and the Remember Building 7 campaign site, www.RememberBuilding7.org.

The 30-second advertising spots produced for Remember Building 7 feature 9/11 family members, architects and engineers who call for more information about how Building 7 collapsed. Video of the building’s free-fall is shown. (The spot, second in a series that began last September, may be viewed at www.RememberBuilding7.org) The spots are airing in the New York area through June 26 on fifteen different cable channels, including New York 1 News, MSNBC, CNN, Comedy Central, HGTV, Logo, Bio, MSG, YES, VH1, CNBC and Bravo, among others.

$100,000 used to purchase the spots was raised from contributions made through the RememberBuilding7.org site.

“As we approach the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, it is important to note that there are significant numbers of people who still don’t feel their questions have been fully answered,” says Director of Outreach for the New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN), a co-sponsor of the Remember Building 7 campaign. The other cosponsor, Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911Truth), has gathered over 1,500 signatures from architects and engineers who say the government’s 2008 account by the National Institute of Standards and Technology of Building 7’s collapse is physically impossible, and that its fall was due to a controlled demolition.

William Brinnier, a New York architect who also appears in the TV spot, notes, “It’s remarkable that 1 out of 3 people don’t know a third building collapsed on 9/11, but it’s encouraging to see that when they are informed of the 1,500 architects and engineers who question the government’s findings, more people support a new investigation than don’t.”

Brinnier lost a friend, WTC construction manager Frank DeMartini, who was responsible for rescuing people from the Twin Towers before his death there on 9/11.

NEW YORK CITY, NY — A $100,000 television campaign beginning in New York City on Monday, June 6 features 9/11 family members, architects and engineers urging New Yorkers to Remember Building 7, the third WTC tower to fall on 9/11, yet one nothit by an airplane.

Reaching an estimated one million unique viewers on fifteen channels, including NewYork 1, MSNBC, CNN, Comedy Central, HGTV, Logo, Bio, MSG, YES, VH1. HLN, CNBC, and Bravo, among others, the spot will run for three weeks through June 24.

The 30-second ad, which can be viewed on www.RememberBuilding7.org, asks viewers to learn more about Building 7 and write to the New York City Council and Manhattan District Attorney to open a new investigation into the skyscraper’s collapse.

The government’s official explanation for the fall, issued in 2008 by the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), was that the building fell due to fires.

This conclusion is disputed by 1,500 architects and engineers who say that no steel-framed skyscraper has ever succumbed to fire. They believe the tower fell as a result of acontrolled demolition, and are calling for a new investigation.

The Remember Building 7 campaign kicks off just before the release this week of independent polling data commissioned by the campaign that indicates:

• a significant lack of awareness of the fall of a third skyscraper, and

• meaningful levels of doubt and concern about the official explanation of the building’s

The non-partisan Remember Building 7 campaign is led by 9/11 family members, architects and engineers, and the money for the spots was raised on the campaign
website. It is the second leg of a campaign that began in the fall of 2010 with a previous $100,000 TV buy, and a current national public relations campaign coinciding with the 10th anniversary of 9/11 this year.

The Remember Building 7 campaign is co-sponsored by several groups, led by the NYC Coalition for Accountability Now (NYCCAN.org), a non-partisan organization of 9/
11 family members, first responders and survivors, and by Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911Truth.org), an organization of more than 1,500 architectural and
engineering professionals.

From Viral Video to Paid TV — Second Cycle of Escalating Awareness Campaign Related to Collapse of Third WTC Building on 9/11/01 is Launched on RememberBuilding7.org

For immediate release, March 26, 2011

NEW YORK CITY, NY — Launched today, a new 30-second viral video spot is the second and latest tool in an escalating cycle of Internet exposure, fundraising, and the purchase of commercial TV time all focused around a campaign called Remember Building 7.

The spot, available on the site www.RememberBuilding7.org, features a rapid montage of architects, engineers and surviving 9/11 family members disputing the official account of the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 – a 47-story office tower, never hit by an airplane – that fell nearly 7 hours after the Twin Towers came down on September 11, 2001. The participants urge viewers to go to the site to learn more about Building 7 and the ongoing campaign for a fresh investigation.

An earlier commercial, which went viral last September when the campaign was called BuildingWhat?, raised $100,000 and enabled a commercial television buy around New York City in November. The new commercial, representing the latest escalation in the awareness campaign, is expected to follow a similar trajectory.

Featured in the commercial are Bob McIlvaine, Jane Pollicino, and Valerie Lucznikowska, all of whom lost family members on September 11, architects William Brinnier and Leslie Young, structural engineer Michael Donly, and mechanical engineer Tony Szamboti. The commercial was produced by The Means of Production in DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY. John Kirby is director; Libby Handros is producer.

RememberBuilding7 is a project of two groups, the New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN) and Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness of the free-fall collapse of Building 7; to inform the public that over 1,400 architects and engineers dispute the official 2008 National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) report attributing the collapse to fire, calling it “physically impossible”; and to bring the public to call upon the New York City Council to impanel a new investigation.

The new round of viral and TV exposure is designed to attract scrutiny by a new level of self-identified reasonable people to view the evidence for themselves.

The first campaign attracted the attention of Fox News Channel journalist Geraldo Rivera, who invited Bob McIlvaine and Tony Szamboti on his program, “Geraldo At Large,” in November. Rivera even showed video footage of himself in 2008 mocking demonstrators who were calling 9/11 “an inside job.” Back then, he told them, “Get a life,” but after seeing the ad last fall he said, “I am certainly much more open-minded about it than I was.”

Rivera then appeared as a guest on Judge Andrew Napolitano’s Fox Business Network program, “Freedom Watch,” to discuss his shift in perspective.

The campaign’s creators are participating in an all-day conference to be held Saturday, March 26 at the University of Hartford’s Millard Auditorium in West Hartford, Connecticut, titled “Investigate Building 7 – A Call to Reexamine The Most Important Event of Our Time.” Featured speakers include author Craig Unger, New York University Professor Mark Crispin Miller, attorney Dr. William Pepper, journalist Leslie Griffith, architect Richard Gage, and McIlvaine and Szamboti, among others. Presentations will include “Foreknowledge of Building 7’s Collapse,” “The Evolution of the Fire-Based Theory for Building 7,” “Structural Aspects of Building 7’s Collapse: Why the NIST Report is Non-Explanatory,” and “Failure To Report,” a panel addressing media resistance to critically reporting the collapse of Building 7.

NFL Champ MARK STEPNOSKI Launches 3-day Fundraising Drive On Behalf of 9/11 “Building Seven” Investigation

For immediate release, December 29, 2010

NEW YORK, NY and DALLAS, TX; — Former Dallas Cowboys and Houston Oilers offensive lineman and two-time Super Bowl champion Mark Stepnoski today kicked off a three-day fundraiser on behalf of an ongoing Internet and television advertising campaign urging the launch of a new investigation into the destruction, on September 11, 2001, of a third building at New York’s World Trade Center site, known as Building 7.

Building 7 collapsed in a free-fall, seven hours after the collapse of the site’s first two towers, but was never hit by an airplane.

Citing a petition signed by 1,399 professional architects and engineers nationwide that questions the official explanation for the building’s dramatic fall, Stepnoski will match up to $10,000 all donations made from Wednesday, Dec. 29 through Friday, Dec. 31 (2010) via the website, www.BuildingWhat.org

“I wish to appeal to all reasonable people – particularly those unfamiliar with Building 7 and how it fell – to visit the BuildingWhat.org site and view the video material for themselves,” said Stepnoski. “Then I urge them to read the petition signed by the group of experienced architects and engineers. I ask only that every person approach the site – and the visual evidence – with an open mind.”

The campaign is part of the non-partisan work of NYC CAN (New York City Coalition for Accountability Now), a group of family members who lost loved ones on 9/11.

On November 13, Bob McIlvaine, who lost his son Bobby on 9/11, and engineer Tony Szamboti appeared on Fox News’ “Geraldo At Large” to discuss the call for a renewed investigation. After interviewing the two men, viewing video footage of Building Seven’s collapse (officially explained as the result of a fire, but eerily resembling a controlled demolition) and considering the petition by the architects and engineers, host Geraldo Rivera stated, “I am certainly much more open-minded about this topic than I was.”

A few days later, appearing on Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Freedom Watch” show on Fox, Rivera prefaced the interview by stating, “I loathe conspiracy theories,” but admitted that the claims of the architects and engineers were “a stunning revelation.”

A 30-second commercial featuring four 9/11 family members went viral on the Internet beginning last August, raising $100,000 which was used to purchase over 350 spots of commercial television time throughout the New York City area in November. Rivera saw the commercial and invited representatives from BuildingWhat.org on his show.

Stepnoski’s matching funds will assist in creating elements for a new TV campaign to keep the issue before the public. Visitors to the website are urged to contact three key political figures in New York City – City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., and Public Advocate Bill de Blasio – to spur a local investigation into Building 7’s stunning free-fall collapse.

9/11 Family Group: Judge Napolitano and Geraldo Rivera Are Right to Question Building 7 Collapse

For immediate release, December 1, 2010

NEW YORK CITY  — Today, the New York City Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN), a group of family members of those killed in the 9/11 attacks, issued the following statement:

We who lost our loved ones on September 11, 2001 vigorously applaud Judge Andrew Napolitano and Geraldo Rivera for the courage they have shown in publicly questioning the official claim that the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 was due to fire.

In the week since Judge Napolitano aired his views on Building 7, many voices in the media have singled him out for attack while conveniently ignoring the sequence of events that led to his revelation and the overwhelming evidence that validates his concerns.

This past month, on TV screens across the New York Metropolitan Area, millions of viewers have been seeing footage of Building 7’s collapse for the first time ever.  This is because we took it upon ourselves to produce and appear in a TV ad to draw attention to the fact that more than 1,300 architects and engineers publicly join us in challenging the official explanation that Building 7 came down due to fire.  We were fortunate enough that Geraldo Rivera saw our ad and invited our representatives to appear on Geraldo At Large.  There they presented the irrefutable evidence that Building 7’s collapse could not have resulted from fire as the government claims.  Geraldo Rivera then appeared on Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano to discuss our campaign and express his doubts about Building 7.  The following week, Judge Napolitano courageously voiced his own opinions on this matter.

However, you would not know anything about our position if you are getting your information from outlets like Media Matters and the Huffington Post.  On November 29, Media Matters published an article entitled, “9/11 Victim Families Criticize Judge Napolitano Comments,” in which four 9/11 family members were quoted as attacking Judge Napolitano, without a single mention of the more than one-hundred 9/11 family members from NYC CAN who share Napolitano’s skepticism.  One family member quoted in the article went as far as to say, “Anybody who talks about that is obviously not a family member and just trying to stir the pot and cause controversy.”

We who lost loved ones on that day cannot stand idly by as our honest search for the truth about their death is trampled upon.  We demand that Media Matters apologize for its unfair, irresponsible and injurious coverage of this deeply sensitive issue.  And we call upon other voices in the media to follow the lead of Geraldo Rivera and Judge Napolitano, who have so courageously begun to question our government’s scientifically bogus explanation for Building 7’s collapse.

9/11 Family Group Releases TV Ad Calling for World Trade Center Building 7 Investigation

For immediate release, November 2, 2010

PDF VERSION: http://buildingwhat.org/downloads/BuildingWhatPressRelease.pdf

NEW YORK CITY — The NYC Coalition for Accountability Now (NYC CAN) is launching a television ad campaign on Election Day in New York City calling for an investigation into the destruction of World Trade Center Building 7, the third building to collapse on 9/11. Building 7 came down at 5:20 in the afternoon although it had not been hit by an aircraft.

The ad, which is entitled “BuildingWhat?” and can be viewed at BuildingWhat.org, will air 350+ times from November 2 through November 10 and is estimated to be seen by millions of viewers in the New York Metropolitan Area, reaching core target audiences multiple times. NYC CAN’s goal is to generate public pressure on the New York City Council to open an investigation into the destruction of Building 7, which until 9/11 housed the City’s Emergency Operations Center, also known as “Mayor Giuliani’s bunker.”

“We’ve been educating the City Council about Building 7 and the need for a new investigation for the past six months,” said Bob McIlvaine, father of Bobby McIlvaine and one of the 9/11 family members who appear in the ad. “We are asking them now to do something about it.”

Patricia Perry, mother of NYPD officer John Perry, opens the ad saying, “Most people don’t know that a third tower fell on September 11th.” Footage of Building 7’s destruction begins to play while other 9/11 family members explain that 1,200 architects and engineers have examined the evidence and disagree with the official report issued by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which concluded that office fires brought down Building 7. This would mark the first and only time in history that fire has caused a steel-framed skyscraper to collapse. The ad closes by asking viewers to go to BuildingWhat.org to learn more.

The “BuildingWhat?” campaign is also being sponsored by the group of architects and engineers referred to in the ad. According to their website, www.AE911Truth.org, they now number 1,346 verified architectural and engineering professionals who have put their professional reputations on the line to publicly voice their disagreement with NIST’s findings.

“The most irrefutable evidence is the free fall descent of the building,” said Anthony Szamboti, a mechanical engineer in the aerospace industry. “You can’t go from zero movement to free fall acceleration instantaneously without an external force simultaneously removing all of the columns in the lower part of the building. If the upper structure has to do any work crushing what’s below it, it’s going to slow down.” According to Mr. Szamboti, NIST acknowledges in its report that the building underwent free fall, but it does not explain how.
